If you’ve come across our website prior to this moment, you’ve seen we have been a work in progress, and quite honestly, we still are. I personally, have never been involved in anything like this prior to undertaking this one. I had no idea how I wanted this site to be laid out, what was possible in the layout, and the amount of time involved in making sure the site is operating as it should. What I did know was the message I wanted to convey and the need I felt in being able to do so. This message, if you’re not aware, is the current condition we as Americans face in our country today. The undertaking of this website has been a challenge, but we’re finally arriving at a point to where we can start promoting it to an extent.
First off, I’d like to thank some of the other sites that are available to us all, and are part of my research in directing me to different events taking place today. Some of the sites I like to look in on are www.americanthinker.com, www.discoverthenetworks.org, www.drudgereport.com, www.foxnews.com, www.jihadwatch.com, www.townhall.com, www.wallstreetjournal.com, www.weeklystandard.com, and www.heritagefoundation.com.
Secondly, I’d like to thank the conservative television and radio commentators such as Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Laura Ingram, Judge Napolitano, Michelle Malkin, Rush Limbaugh, Hugh Hewitt, David Horowitz, and the many more who are all involved in helping us to receive the information we need today to stay abreast of the happenings in our country.
I’d also like to give a big, thumbs down, to the mainstream media for their concerted efforts to deny the American people of their rights. This being the obligation of the media to supply pertinent information to educate us in the agenda’s being pushed upon us by our elected officials.
In March of 2009, I started writing my book, “Simple Man…Simple Wisdom.” It was an effort on my part to do something to help the American people understand the situation in our country. We’ve become citizens with little or no voice in our own country. Our government has become so arrogant, so corrupt, so greedy, it no longer takes our voices to heart. They literally ignore us, and our Constitution. They’ve lost, in their minds, our values, our traditions, and by doing so, we in turn are losing our freedoms. This has to be corrected.
Look at our country today. What is happening that has us so concerned us American citizens?
The thing that stands out to me is the birth of a new movement, the Tea Party. I am 53 years old and I have never witnessed the “Silent Majority,” with emphasis on the “silent,” so involved in the political arena as we today see. People are gathering at different spots across the country to express their displeasure over the complete unaccountability of our leader’s actions. Here we are in one of the worst economic situations our nation has ever endured, yet our officials continue to spend, borrow, and print money with totally no regard to the outcome of such blatant excessive spending.
You, me, and millions upon millions of honest, hard-working, people are all, “tightening their belts,” in the challenge we face today of trying to make ends meet, and live up to our obligations. If you’re like me, the challenge is really becoming quite a chore.
Yet, they continue to “grow” our government. The public sector is thriving, yet the private sector continues to decline. Here’s the amazing fact behind this statement. The public sector is funded, entirely, by the private sector. Without the taxpayer the public sector dies, in the capitalist system anyway. But by now, it ought to be obvious to us all that this is their goal, destroy capitalism in our country. Our President, in a campaign speech, I believe 5 days prior to the general election, stated, ”We’re five days away from fundamentally transforming America.” Can’t you see now, he meant exactly what he said?
If indeed this is happening, and it is, this explains the reasoning behind the Tea Party Movement, and the town hall meetings, where so much despair, as voiced by the American people, created these turnouts. We the people, sense the leaders in our country’s attempt to take us in another direction, and we don’t advocate it one bit. As I stated earlier, at 53 years old, I’ve never seen this type of outpouring of emotion displayed prior to now, by again, the silent majority. The left always is protesting something, and many times violently. I honestly believe, we’re witnessing a truly historical event taking place in our country today. Another point as well, is the fact it’s being carried out by all different political groups, Republican, Independent, Libertarian, and even Democrats.
I, for one, am appalled at the actions by the current administration. I believe them to be socialists in every sense of the word. But, many, many Republicans are in fact not acting with accountability to their constituents as well.
In one of my blogs, titled, “Integrity….. A Lost Virtue,” I speak on the subject of just that, what has happened to integrity in our country? Where is the integrity of our elected officials? How have we gotten to the point our politicians have lost their integrity of representing the people they were elected to represent? Shouldn’t it be considered an “honor,” which in reality it is, to be elected to a position of governing in this great country of ours? They are elected, after all, to advocate to the beliefs of “we the people, of the people, and by the people.” Now, right here and right now, is the time to bring our politicians back to the realization that they do in fact work for us. It is NOT their right to impose upon the people their ideas of how our country is to be run, though truly that is their belief as I speak.
I ask you all now to help us to become a voice to protect our freedoms, our liberties, and our core values as Americans. Help us protect our children, and our grand-children’s rights to grow up in the America we grew up in. Let’s take back our schools, our media, our jobs, our government, and our country. Let’s throw the “political correctness” that’s been imposed on us all, “under the bus,” and live as the America our founding fathers intended.
If you have any suggestions, comments or articles to contribute, we’d be very appreciative in hearing from you. This is a battle to take back our rights, and one in which we all need to take a moment now and then, to help each other guarantee the freedoms we’ve come to know and enjoy.
To this point, this has literally been a “one-man show,” and again I’d appreciate any help you might be able to aid us in. On the back cover of my book there is a quote from Edmund Burke, “Nobody makes a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.” This really struck me as a telling factor in human nature, as I myself, have been guilty of that same sentiment on many different occasions in my own life. In these times though, if we all do a little, through the sheer volume of numbers, we can move mountains.
America has been awfully good to my family and I, and I hope my book, and our website can help me to give back to her as best I can. I love my country. Please help us by showing your love as well.
I’d like to thank a couple friends of mine who have both been very supportive of what we’re doing here at www.simplemansimplewisdom.com. Both are in the process of becoming administrators on our website and are dedicated in helping us to maintain an informative site through their experience in business and life in general.
One is Dick Calvitt. He is married with two daughters. Dick, I’ve known since the 1980’s. He was in banking most of his career, and now is in the real estate business. I believe he is involved in a school board as well, helping young people in pursuing their careers. Dick, will be the “old man,” of the group. I’m not sure, but I believe Dick pursued a political career at one point. We’ve never discussed it in length, but I do remember him telling me at one point, he had campaigned in all thirteen states!
Trent VanHorn is the other. He is married with two daughters and a son. Trent and I go back to the early 1990’s. We’ve worked together on different projects through the years and he is one of the nicest, though most professional, people I’ve ever been around. Trent and I’ve only been in one argument since we’ve met. It was over the number of Great Lakes, with me saying there were five, but Trent was adamant there were only four. The kicker being, Trent was born in Michigan, which borders one. Yet, I’m the guy with an eleventh grade education. Go figure.
I feel very fortunate to have one, much less both, coming on board. Thank you guy’s so much.
Quickly, I’d like to thank our youngest son as well, Mark. Mark designed the cover of my book for me. Also he has been very helpful in bringing the website along as well.
In closing, I’d like to say I’ve always liked to laugh. A lot! On our site you’ll find humorous quotes, jokes, and funny videos.
